At Future Ordering, our people drive everything we do—like Adam Markström, Team Lead and Developer in our Payments team. With strong tech skills and calm leadership, Adam brings clarity and creativity. We talked to him about his journey, passions, and how flexibility fuels innovation.
After my studies in computer science, I was hired by the company where I had written my master’s thesis. I stayed there for nine years, working as a consultant for a wide range of clients – from startups to large corporations. Most of my work focused on embedded systems development, but I also had the chance to explore different roles and industries. That variety helped shape how I approach complex problems today.
At Future Ordering, our teams have a high degree of autonomy, which I really value. As a Team Lead and Developer, I work closely with my team to prioritize and plan our projects, making sure we're aligned and moving forward together. I’m involved in every part of the development process – from initial architecture and design, to implementation, code reviews, and testing. It’s a hands-on, collaborative role that’s both challenging and rewarding.
Definitely when our first customer went live on the Future Ordering platform. After months of hard work across multiple teams, it was incredibly rewarding to see everything come together – and even more so knowing we were delivering real value to a customer. That kind of milestone stays with you.
I’ve always been drawn to challenges – and development is full of them. It’s a field that demands creative problem solving on multiple levels. The pace of change is exciting, too – there’s always something new to learn, new tools to try, and better ways to build.
The people, first and foremost. I’m surrounded by passionate, supportive, and skilled colleagues who genuinely care about the work and about each other. That kind of environment makes a huge difference. I also really appreciate the flexibility we’re given – both in terms of working hours and location. It makes it much easier to maintain a healthy, sustainable balance between work and life.
I’d describe the culture as open-minded, inclusive, and highly collaborative. We have a great mix of people with different backgrounds and perspectives, which leads to rich discussions and smarter decisions. Everyone’s voice is heard, and that sense of trust and engagement really defines the way we work together.
If you’re looking for a place where you can work with the latest technologies, contribute to meaningful projects, and be part of a team that values your input – this is it. At Future Ordering, you get the freedom to shape your own role, while being surrounded by experienced, supportive colleagues who are always open to new ideas. It’s an ideal place for people who want to grow, make an impact, and still have time for life outside of work.
